Dear Parents and Athletes:
Speed can most certainly be taught. If you've been to my site before, or if you've been to the gym or heard me speak you know this.
But, it can't be taught in 12 sessions, and without exception, it can't be taught by someone who has never learned HOW to teach Speed, Agility & Quickness.
If you've ever had your athlete train with some sports performance company, where there are 20-30 kids in the group, with 1 young guy who was a college or former pro at Somewhere State University, you know you pretty much got nothing for your money in terms of improvements in speed or performance. The experience was great! Your athlete had a great time. But structurally, they run with the exact same form, they are really no faster than before, and aside from the genetic growth that happens natrually, they look exactly the same, Am I right?
That's because two things are missing from most of the sports preformance places we know of:
1) Is a PLAN TO MAKE YOU FASTER, and
2) a COACH WHO ACTUALLY KNOWS WHAT THEY ARE DOING!
I'm going to leave those two points as, enough said.
The Playmaker Phase I Speed Camp is May 21st through June 1st.
Times: 12 noon to 2 p.m. Mon-Tue. and Thurs-Fri. No camp on Wednesdays.
Phase I is about Basic Strength and all of it's components including:
A Strong Core- if athletes want to put on some muscle, it all starts with the core.
Flexibility-helps an athlete lift through the entire range of motion of that joint.
Balance-to help put the body in proper position while on the field or court.
Multi-directional movements-sports happen in all directions, so you'd better train in them all.
and DeccelerationTraining- probably the biggest single factor for speed and strength improvements.

The Playmaker Speed Training System is designed to teach coaches how to increase their athletes speed, quickness and power in a systematic, progressive and high powered manner. Coaches and trainers are given the drills, how to properly perform the drills, specific ques to insure the athletes perform the drills correctly and the purpose for each drill which is key to athletes buying in to your system. Parents will learn how to supplement their athlete's sports training using simple ladders, hurdles and cones which are easly available. Athletes will understand how to properly perform drills that previously may have developed poor techniques and form leading to injuries and the lack of speed.

At the start of the tournament on Monday, June 27th , Gabrielle played five hours of tennis. Over the three day period of the tournament she played 11 hours of tennis.
Three months ago Gabrielle did not have the physical stamina to play 11 hours of tennis over a three day period.
