I explain this to parents and coaches all the time via phone when they call to inquire about training. Though we call it Speed, Agility and Quickness training, our service acturally encompasses soooo much more.
We work on speed, agility, quickness, strength, power, muscular endurance, balance, flexibility, explosiveness, plyometrics and isometric strength.
Now, do we work on all this at one time? Absolutely not! We work in a progressive manner on the most significant dificiencies first. In other words, we work first on the most glarring thing keeping your athlete/s from being as fast or powerful as they could be first.
I have a 48 day proven plan to follow that I've developed over my 20+ years of training. While I use this program as a guide, I'm constantly making changes to the individual days to accomodate for your athlete's unique needs of that day. So, if there is an exercise that they don't quite get that day, we will come back the next day and work on it until he or she gets it down pat. Then we will move on to progressively improve.
Athletes learn to do a proper Warm-up and Cool-down. They learn when to do static stretching and when not to. They will learn how to determine the right weight to lift, and how to perform the lift correctly, so the chances of injury are decreased. They will learn proper landing techniques first - before they ever start jumping to high objects like some coaches have athletes doing. That will increase the risk of injury exponentiallly! So, we learn to land properly first. They learn so much while training with Playmaker, that it's tough to explain it all here. We just call it SAQ!
